Although Injured Chad Goodwin Makes Huge Contribution

Chad GoodwinJohn PhillipsMatt Heaston
(April 2006):
Number 32 Chad Goodwin hasn't been wearing much of a smile the past few games but has all of the Lawmen Staff grinning ear to ear. With high expectations after a years wait, Lawmen LB Chad Goodwin got injured in week two against the Oakland Vipers and re-injured himself in week 3 against the Rattlers, yet the team owner was quoted "god bless, Chad", "Chad has brought in an enormous amount of talent along with him when he came to camp this year".

One of those is his teammate for the past 4 years, Number 9 John Phillips who made his 2nd interception of the game and his 4th of the season (which currently leads the GCFL), to seal the game against the Rattlers. Mr.. Goodwin has also brought along left tackle Matt Heaston who brings a little bit of nastiness left over from their time together with the Modesto Raiders. This trio has made a big impact on the Lawmen brand of football after having spent the past few years being huge rivals, especially in the GSAFL where they met once a year and always seemed to match up again and again in the playoffs.

Chad Goodwin was the initial member to contact the Lawmen in 2005 only to be denied in playing for the season due to league policies. After waiting the season he was intent on joining the NorCal Lawmen family and brought his interested teammates John and Matt along. The trio have enjoyed it so much they now have a 4th Raider player in RB Billy Hylla who has now joined the Lawmen. Although Chad has been injured he has assisted the team greatly with the players he has brought in with him and is a consistent impact player when healthy. The Lawmen Staff thank this foursome for their huge contributions to the team, and get ready for a fast paced, high flying ride of a life time in 2006 as the Lawmen have already outscored opponents 160 to 6 in the first 4 games.
