About Henry James

A Concord, California native, Henry "Boots" James understood at a very young age that football would play a very important part in his life. With over 20 years of continuous football experience, Boots James is best known for three things, his nickname, his failed attempts as a child to sign up for Pop Warner Football two years before being eligible and most of all, his ability to hit and tackle on the gridiron.

After playing football continuously through Pop Warner, high school and at the collegiate level, Boots James returned to Concord only to join a High School Staff as an assistant coach. While coaching high school football in 1993, he answered a newspaper add advertising tryouts with a local Semi Pro team, Boots found himself playing football again with the East Bay Buccaneers where he continued playing for five seasons.

Since, he has continued as a player with respected teams throughout Northern California such as, the Solano Chiefs, Sacramento Stray Dogs and most recently the NorCal Lawmen.

It was an off-season exhibition game between the Oakland Vipers and the NorCal Lawmen where Boots first met Rick Williams and Raven Keene. Since joining the Lawmen, his contributions have assisted the team in earning three league Championships and one California State Championship in just four seasons of play.

In His own words

Growing up with sports has given me many advantages in life. Organized sports in particular have provided many opportunities I may not have otherwise received. Most important, the sport of football has allowed me to meet many people over the years and has allowed the opportunity to established friendships that will last my lifetime.

After a long career and four championships as player with the Lawmen, this year, 2003, sets many high expectations to live up to.

"August 2nd, at Kezar Stadium, will be the date on which I'll be graded as an owner "

GO LAWMEN!! ITS GAME DAY!!

Henry "Boots" James
