Lawmen to Help Support Benicia High Athletics

On Wednesday May 7th 2003, KCBS ran a story about the Benicia High Panthers and their budget issue with the schools athletic program. By 10 AM that morning, the Lawmen owners Raven Keene and Boots James gave their approval to begin reviewing ways the Lawmen could help.

They decided that last Friday's game was a perfect opportunity to help Benicia High. The Lawmen organization had decided that they would not collected donations this year at the gate to watch the team play. Instead, on Friday night at Kezar Stadium, some thirty of the Benicia High Panther Football Players led by Coach Craig Holden and Assistant Coach Steve Humphrey arrived at Kezar. The gates of the stadium were manned my members of the team collecting donations while KRON news reporters interviewed Raven Keene, Coach Holden and the Panther Players as patrons arrived to see the game. The evening was filled with excitement as the Panther Team Captains and Coaches were special guests on the field for the tossing of the coin at start the game.

Panther players will be at each home game during to the 2003 season collecting donations at the gates of Kezar so the dream of having a season next year can become a reality.

Come out to any of the remaining Lawmen home games and support the Panthers!

Look for the Blue Helmets, "DONATE" and watch a game for free!

All Lawmen home game Proceeds in 2003 will go to the Benicia High School Athletic Program. News Coverage on this story:
