Lawmen Receive Federal 510(c)(c) Non-Profit Status
(August 2007):

The NorCal Lawmen have finally received the full federal non-profit organization tax exemption status, 501(c)(3), from the IRS. This is a large win for the Lawmen as it will help greatly in the effort to obtain team sponsorships. Now, all sponsors can write off their Lawmen team sponsorships as charitable, tax deductible, donations. Lawmen players can also claim their team fees as charity donations on their taxes.

This was a long process that involved a lot of time and work from several individuals as the Lawmen were able to obtain this on their own without outside help from any tax agency or legal firm. Although there are over 800 semi-pro teams in the nation, only a handful have the official 501(c)(3) IRS tax exemption status which the Lawmen now have.
